Patients kept asking for memberships. Here is how The Shore Skin Clinic finally said yes.

The Shore Skin Clinic wanted to offer memberships. Patients were already asking. What was out there did not do the job, so the clinic kept saying no.

Dr Rebecca Norman launched on Clinic Membership in March. Seventeen patients are now on a plan, and the renewals run without her.

She wanted memberships. Nothing made them viable.

The Shore Skin Clinic is a doctor-led practice on the West Sussex coast. The work is repeat work by nature: skin health, injectables and treatment courses patients return for on a rhythm rather than once. Which is why patients kept asking about memberships. The clinic was not running them, and the reason was not reluctance. Nothing available did the job properly.

A few systems tried to bolt memberships on. What you actually got was a monthly charge. The other option was the complicated way: spreadsheets for who had paid, what they had left, who needed chasing, and a once-a-year onboarding so you were not doing that admin every week. Fine if a whole cohort joins in January. Not viable if people join when they are ready. Looked at honestly, that is a part-time job. She did not have one going spare.

“Patients would ask whether I did a membership and I would have to say no. It was not that I did not want to. What was out there was either a monthly charge bolted onto something else, or a spreadsheet and a once-a-year onboarding. Neither was a real membership, and neither was viable with the admin it would have taken.”

Set up in an afternoon. First member live the next morning.

Clinic Membership builds the account from the clinic's existing website, so she was not retyping her own treatment menu into new software. She built the plans. She sent the first membership on 4 March 2026. By the next morning a patient had signed, paid and was live.

“It pulled my treatments straight off my own website, so I was not typing everything in from scratch. I built the plans and started sending them.”

Sending a membership takes minutes, not a project

Onboarding does not wait for January. When a patient is ready, the clinic can build a plan and send it from their record. If they already have a history with the clinic, the system can suggest a membership from that history: past visits and treatments, turned into a plan she reviews and sends for them to sign.

Six of the patients who joined did so the same day they were invited. The membership is not a yearly admin event. It is something you can send in a consultation and have signed before the afternoon is over.

“Sending a membership is not a project. I can build one for a patient there and then in less than a minute, or the system can suggest one from their history with the clinic. I check it, and it goes out. They can be on a plan the same day.”

After that, the system does the admin

From 5 March to 25 August, 58 membership renewals processed on card without anyone chasing them. Failed payments surface instead of quietly lapsing. Members can see what they have used and what they have left. Every plan carries a signed agreement and a 14-day cooling-off period, so there is a record of what they joined, not a search through old emails.

“Done informally, a membership is an email and a bank transfer. Now every patient signs an agreement, sets up their payment and gets their cooling-off period. I can see exactly what they agreed to and when.”

That is why it was viable. The work that would have made spreadsheets and yearly onboarding impossible never had to start.

“Once they are a member, I don't need to administer them. Renewals, failed payments, what they have used, what they have left: the system does that. That is the only reason it was viable on top of a busy clinical list.”

Without it, she would not have launched memberships at all

“Patients were always asking about memberships. Now we've finally been able to deliver on them using Clinic Membership, and the uptake has been amazing. Simple to roll out. Guaranteed revenue every month.”

“I would still be saying no. That is the honest answer. I was not going to run memberships on a spreadsheet, and I was not going to pretend a monthly charge was a membership. Without something that did it properly, my patients would simply not have the option.”

She came for memberships. She kept the whole clinic.

“Memberships were why I came. I now run bookings, patients and payments in the same system. The smart features save me hours every week.”
